Please consider taking a couple minutes to make these two phone calls today!
These quick actions CAN and WILL make a difference for people in South Sudan and the DR Congo.
1. Since December 2013, South Sudan has been embroiled in a brutal civil war that has disproportionately affected the civilian population. So far 50,000 - 300,000 people have been killed, more than 2.5 million have been displaced, nearly six million people are in need of humanitarian aid and protection, and over 100,000 face starvation.
There is a Resolution in the House (H. Res 187) that is calling for USAID to designate emergency funding to help address the famine and dire food insecurity situation plaguing South Sudan.
Please call your member of Congress to co-sponsor this Resolution, or thank them if they have already done so.
UPDATE: We are happy to report that Congresswoman Bonamici and Congressman Blumenauer have both co-sponsored!
